Two Google changes put your Local Services Ads history at risk. Past campaign reports don't transfer when your account moves into Google Ads, and Google's data retention policy now removes detailed data after 37 months. This lesson shows you exactly what to save and how to keep it useful.
- Google says past impressions, clicks, weekly spend and ad-level performance reports will not transfer to Google Ads (Google).
- Since June 1, 2026, hourly, daily and weekly data is kept for 37 months; monthly and longer for 11 years (Google).
- Lead records (contacts, messages, older call recordings) do transfer.
- A one-time export is a snapshot. A continuous record stays current.
What to save
- Performance by period.Export spend, impressions, leads and charged leads at the most detailed level the dashboard allows (daily or weekly), for every period it shows.
- Leads with their status.Export your lead list with each lead's type (call, message, booking), charge status and credit status. Google's automated system can credit charged leads later, so the credit status is part of the record.
- Settings.Budgets, per-service targets or bids, service areas, job types, categories, schedule and business hours.
- Your outcomes.Add a column for whether each lead booked and what the job was worth. Google has never had this data, and it's what turns a lead list into an ROI record.
- A simple index.Name files by date range and type (for example
2026-06_weekly-performance.csv) and keep a one-page note of what each file contains.
How to keep it useful
Put everything in one shared folder that doesn't depend on a single person's login. Recheck it monthly: the 37-month window moves forward every month, so the detail you haven't exported keeps shrinking. If you add outcome data each month, you'll have the numbers Google's reports never had: cost per booked job and cost per real customer.
- Exporting only monthly totals. The daily and weekly detail is what expires first and what answers real questions.
- Keeping the export in one person's downloads folder.
- Forgetting credits. Charged-then-credited leads change your true cost.
How CallRadius handles this
Managed CallRadius accounts have their leads and daily performance synced continuously and kept on our side. For advertisers who run their own accounts, CallRadius Signal keeps the same kind of read-only record, starting the day you connect. No one can bring back data Google has already deleted, so the sooner a record starts, the more it holds. Read the full story in Your LSA Reports Are Disappearing.
Frequently asked questions
Will Google keep my LSA reports after migration?
No. Google says previous campaign-level performance metrics and reports won't move to Google Ads, and recommends downloading them before your account migrates.
How long does Google keep detailed ad data?
Under the policy effective June 1, 2026: hourly, daily and weekly data for 37 months; monthly, quarterly and annual data for 11 years. After that it isn't accessible in the interface or the API.
