Local Service Ads categories and eligibility vary by country and region, and Google adds new categories over time. This directory reflects Google's published US category list as of July 2026 — 114 business types across home services, legal, financial, health & wellness, education, personal care, pets, automotive, dining and more, all under the unified Google Verified badge. Some categories are limited to California & Florida, and the dining categories are piloting in five metros (Atlanta, Boston, Indianapolis, Miami, San Jose). Not sure about yours? Ask us.
In April–May 2026 Google added its first-ever dining categories — Restaurant, Dessert & Coffee, and Food & Beverage — piloting in Atlanta, Boston, Indianapolis, Miami and San Jose. According to Google's category documentation, the Google Verified badge is not yet available for the dining verticals.
Real estate professionals on LSA can now show enhanced home-listing ads — property photos, price, beds and baths inside the ad — in all 50 states. It is a richer ad format on the existing Real Estate category, not a new category.
Google retired the separate Google Guaranteed, Google Screened and License Verified badges and unified them into a single Google Verified checkmark. Background checks still apply to home and local services, and license checks still apply to professionals — the consumer-facing badge is now the same.

As of 2026, Google lists 114 eligible business types in the US: 40 home and property trades, 17 legal practice areas, 21 health and wellness professions, 9 education and care categories, plus financial, real estate, personal care, pets, automotive, dining (pilot) and more. In the UK there are 45 categories — 28 trades nationwide and 17 legal/property categories in Greater London. Google adds categories over time and availability varies by country and region.
In October 2025 Google unified Google Guaranteed, Google Screened and License Verified into a single Google Verified badge. The verification behind it still depends on your category — home and local services pass background checks, while lawyers, health professionals and other licensed pros pass license checks — but customers now see one consistent checkmark.
